Weaving Peace in Arlee--day 2

I am actually posting this on day 3, but I don't have internet access where I am staying, so I have to wait until I get back to Hangin Art in the morning before I can post the images from the day before.

Linda did not hesitate to sit down and weave, and Karl watches.

Before long, Karl was unable to resist.

Even skilled weavers like Heather enjoyed weaving peace. If YOU were here, I know I would have trouble getting you to give someone else a turn.

Bonnie, the looms appears a bit different from a traditional jack loom. Could you explain the difference, especially the part with the wheel and chain (at that's what it looks like to me). --Sue in MA

Hi Sue in MA, I will do a post devoted to this loom--it is a 2 harness counter-balance loom. If you google Saori loom, you will be able to find the spec and also there are some delightful YouTube movies that will answer all of your questions. The wheel is actually a bobbin winder built onto the loom, so once can wind quills for the shuttle without getting up from the loom.

hello,

I am looking for a way to watch hand movements of weavers a
and to hear the sound of the loom.

I would like to then begin a spiritual healing practice using these ancient hand movements. I want to hear the steady rhytmic sound of the loom without humans talking. I have been guided by Spirit to do this.

If anyone knows of a you tube or a film please let me know!

Thank you!
